Yes, another giveaway and it doesn't stop here.  Since Mardi Gras is one of my favorite celebrations and I have actually been one, I thought I'd do a giveaway with 3 recent releases from Zoya.  Mardi Gras 2013 starts today 1/19/2013 and goes through 2/12/13.  I will however end this giveaway on Feb 2, 2013, to give  me enough time to ship them to you for Fat Tuesday.

    I know very little about Mardi Gras other than it being a big party just before Lent. But since I'm not Christian, and during the years that I was, I was never Roman Catholic, I've never paid a whole lot of attention to the concept. Oddly enough, even with the various people from many cultures I've gone to school with and worked with over the years, I've only ever come across ONE person with ash on their forehead on Ash Wednesday. (And I admit to being proud of myself that it took me only a moment to see it and connect with what day it was - she got asked about it several times over the day but I didn't have to.)

    So I don't particularly have a "favorite thing about Mardi Gras", sorry. :)

    We celebrate Mardi Gras where I live, and my favorite thing is that Mardi Gras day is a holiday and I don't have to work!

    I never did a lot for Mardi Gras, but I did go to a great event once with amazing food. I don't know if it's traditional Mardi Grad food, but the crawfish were wonderful.

    My Favorite thing about Mardi Gras is the Parade and that it's a Fun celebration with beads masks and so much dancing & food....Love Mardi Gras!

    The only thing I really know about Mardi Gras is the parade and the parties. When I was a little girl my Aunt went and she used to bring me beads and feathers. She was my favorite aunt so I loved it!

    i don't celebrate mardi gras and have never been to new orleans during mardi gras but have relatives who live there. i guess my favorite thing was being sent beads from mardi gras as a child.

    I used to live in NOLA so there is a lot I love about Mardi Gras. My favorite thing though is that everyone in the city-- rich, poor, young, old -- is out celebrating.

    Our little town has a mini-parade with locals marching in it, and it's mostly PG rated, so it can be enjoyed by everyone!

I am back to blogging finally!  Thanks for all your patience through a very rough time in my life.  Back in July 2013, I flew to Las Vegas for Cosmoprof North America.  One of my favorite things to do after the show was to go shopping at The Forums Shops At Caesars .  One of the first shops I went into was Dior, I was hooked immediately.  I did not have any Dior Beauty products so I purchased my first polish, Psychedelic Orange and a lip pencil to match.  Since then, my Dior collection has increased by 2 or 3 more polishes and a Gel Top Coat which I love! I chose today to finally show you this polish because a group of bloggers are linking together for Dior Day Blogger Linkup.  Psychedelic Orange is almost a jellish cream polish.  I used 3 coats above and you can still see a little VNL, but this doesn't bother me one bit.  Even though it didn't need it I did top it with one coat of the Dior Gel Coat, which is my favorite top coat...

Nfu-Oh Aqua Base...Worth it? Necessary?

Tonight I was doing swatches of some holographic polishes that I haven't tried yet. Nfu-Oh's, Essences from Europe and BK's from Hong Kong. And the question that keeps coming up, is the Nfu-Oh Aqua Base really necessary? Isn't there a cheaper easier to access brand available? I've seen this asked more than anything else recently and it even came up in our Nail Polish and Gossip Group on Facebook. I'm going to let you answer this question for yourself, here are pictures I took, all using Nfu-Oh #66 Green Holographic polish. On the first picture, on my thumb, middle and pinky finger, I used the Nfu-Oh Aqua base coat, on the ring and pointer finger I used another well known brand of base coat.
