Catrice - Dirty Berry - Pic Heavy

Image
This is one of my polishes that I recently received from my friend Kati in the Netherlands. It is one of Catrice's most popular colors, Dirty Berry #420. This is named perfectly, it's a dirty looking purple base with glitter. There are some scattered Holographic effects. My first Catrice and I'm in love. I've worn this polish 4-5 days now, Seche Clear base coat, 2 coats of color and Seche Vite top coat. I have no visible wear or chips. I'm looking forward to getting more Catrice polishes. What do you think about this color? What Catrice color would you like to see next?

Not Pink Wednesday! Deborah Lippmann's Fade To Black and Nfu-Oh #14

Image
Today I was going to do a pink manicure for "On Wednesday's We Wear Pink", when a few friends suggested anything but Pink and a few said Black.  I do listen to what my followers and friends want to see, so today's mani is 2 coats of base, 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann's Fade to Black, 2 coats of Nfu-Oh #14 and 2 final coats of Seche Vite.  I used 2 coats of base coat to hopefully keep my nails from staining.  And I think you all know application of the 2 polishes are wonderful, I love both brands.  All the coats makes my nails a little thick, but I love that feel.  Anyway, lets just get to the pictures, you can click on them to enlarge them.  Excuse any little mistakes, I'm not use to applying really dark colors yet. Yes, once again I stepped out of my box and I'm loving it!  What do you think about the colors and the combination of polishes?  What would you like to see me do next?  You can find a list of all the polishes I have on My Collectio...

Fancy French Nail Designs - Guest Post by Tricia

Image
Bringing you two Fancy French Nail Art Designs by Tricia of Tricia's Nail Artistry . 3D silver design: 1) Paint a french manicure 2) Add a silver smile line 3) Add some rhinestones (I used 1 large and 2 smaller) and 5 silver bullions 4) Finish with top coat.  When using rhinestones or other larger decals, I would suggest using a small drop of glue to adhere it to the nail. Here's another one. 1) Paint nail pink 2) Add white tip 3) Add rhinestone to form a smile line 4) Finish with top coat This design is very easy to do and rhinestones can be  substituted  with any form of nail decals. Smaller rhinestones looks amazing when done in this design. What do you think about them?  Let Tricia know what other nail art designs you would like to see.

Dr's Remedy Hot Hot Hot Summer Shades 2011 *pic heavy*

Image
Tonight, I am reviewing Dr's Remedy Hot Hot Hot Summer Shades for 2011.  There are 5 new shades this year.  Three shimmers and 2 creams.  With each polish, I started with a base coat and 2 or 3 coats depending on how opaque each polish was.  Application was easy.  I was very pleased with the odor or should I say lack of odor with these polishes.  I am very sensitive to smell and some ingredients and found Dr's Remedy very pleasant to work with.  On to the pictures, which can be clicked to enlarge. BOLD Baby Blue:  an aqua-meets-turquoise  take on every boy's favorite color. NURTURE Nude Pink:  a delicate, damsel-in-distress barely-there beautiful. GLEE Gold:  a shimmer-infused coin of perfection. LOVELY Lavender:  a pale purple with matte depth and charm. TRANQUIL Tangerine:  a bold, but wonderfully-wearable, slice of juicy delight. Dr's Remedy is a line of doctor-inspired cosmetics that is dedicated to using clean, hypoal...

Summer Time Nail Art Mani - Guest Post from Karine of Nailderella

Image
Hi there~ Summer  has just begun and I wanted to do a mani to celebrate it! To achieve this summer mani, I used  Simply Smashing  (OPI) as the base color. It's a bright and shimmery yellow-green  nail polish that was launched for the Australian Open and is part of the Serena Willliams collection. It has a  foil metallic finish  and is rather on the sheer side. So you have to use  3 coats  to reach full opacitiy. The application was really good,  flawless . It's really bright and you've got the impression it's glowing from the inside.  I love this polish like crazy. When I first saw it either on swatches or even when I had the bottle in my hands, I believed I wouldn't really like it but when I had it on my nails, it was love! It's a very unusual color! Simply Smashing (OPI), 3 coats ,  without top coat Then, I used a  make-up sponge  to create a gradation using orange (Lana - Zoya) and red (Sarah - Zoya). I put some polish d...
