Essie - no place like chrome

I received Essie no place like chome from the Mirror Metallics Collection as one of my Klout Perks.  It is descbribed as a richly oxidized nickel.  I usually only show you the good or at least my best.  But tonight I'm going to show you the good and the bad.  I'm going to start with the bad.

I haven't had my nail polish to bubble in a long time.  I usually have no problems with using Seche Vite, but combined with Essie's Mirror Metallics, they did not play well together as you can see in the pic below.

1 coat Seche Clear, 2 coats Essie no place like chrome, 1 coat Seche Vite.

I immediately took the manicure off and tried again.  I wanted to make sure what the problem was... the polish or the weather or some other influence.  It wasn't, it was the combination of the polish and the Seche Vite.  The metallic polish was harder to apply in several ways, it will pull and lift if you try to go back over it even while wet.  Make sure you let the first coat dry thoroughly before applying a second coat if needed.  This formula reminds me of how some holographic polishes apply. Now on to the good.

1 coat Seche Clear, 2 coats Essie no place like chrome, no top coat.

I love the colors from the Essie Mirror Metallics Collection and you can check them out at www.essie.com.  Have you tried this collection yet?  What did you think about it?

*This product was sent to me from Klout.com as a perk.

  1. Did applying the polish over SV make it pop off in sheets? Any time I put anything over SV it goes absolutely bananas. It does look a lot nicer in the second pic, though. :)

    1. I used Seche Clear as the base, never had any problems with it. SV should be used as a top coat, that may be where you are having problems. Hope this helps!
